We offer individual, marital, and family therapy for patients ages 14 through 64.  Neuropsychological and other psychological testing is available for active duty military personnel and, on a space available basis, for eligible family members or retirees.  The conditions tested for would include, but are not limited to, those such as mild Traumatic Brain Injury and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder.

Our focus and mission is to provide evidenced-based treatment and the highest quality of care for our patients.  Our providers have expertise in:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression and anxiety
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
  • Interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Other therapeutic modalities used include supportive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavior therapy, and others.

When services needed are beyond our scope of practice, we make referral to appropriate treatment resources using TRICARE Network Providers.

Mental Health Consultation

The psychologist and neuropsychologist are available to provide consultation services to Commands through Command Directed Evaluations and Fitness for Duty evaluations. A service member’s Commander may request these evaluations through a process dictated by Army policy. These evaluations are not a substitute for emergency services.

In addition, we perform evaluations for a Service Member’s entry into a uniformed services training academy for positions such as Recruiter, Sniper, and Drill Sergeant. We also perform Security Clearance Evaluations at the request of the DOD agency/organization employing the Service Member or DOD Civilian.

Substance Use Disorder Clinical Care

Substance Use Disorder Clinical Care (SUDCC), formerly known as Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) is now located within the Behavioral Health Clinic at 450 Gibner Road. SUDCC offers a variety of services to include assessment, treatment, and case-management of substance-use disorders for active duty service members, their beneficiaries (18 and older), and retirees and their beneficiaries.

Family Advocacy

Assessment and individual, family or marital treatment of all child and spouse abuse referrals. Treatment is provided to victims and offenders.

Crisis Intervention, Assessment, and Follow-Up

During office hours crisis intervention and acute care assessment are made available to the beneficiary population as staff and resources are available.

Psychiatry Services

Psychiatric Telemedicine for evaluation and medication management is available on a limited basis for Active Duty Service Members only through Video Teleconference (VTC) with psychiatrists at Ft. Gordon.  Not all conditions are appropriate for VTC and patients are screened by one of our Behavioral Health providers prior to enrolling in VTC psychiatry.
